However, the rooms are not the only attractive feature of the Portofino Bay hotel. Guests have a wide selection of excellent and simple dining options at the hotel. Whether you feast on delicious dishes from Naples or Tuscany at Mama Della's Ristorante or enjoy a relaxing lunch by the pool at Splendido Pizzeria, any dining enjoyment can be made directly at the hotel. Staying at the Portofino Bay Hotel is an unforgettable experience that brings benefits to the two Universal theme parks. As a guest at the hotel, your room key provides you with Universal Express access. This allows you to bypass the regular lines and avoid the long periods that sometimes occur due to the huge popularity of the sights.

As with most hotel resorts, Portofino Bay Hotel has special offers that deserve the attention of travelers. Whether you choose to visit during the value season or Stay 4, Play free, any option you get at Portofino Bay Hotel will be good.

Best scenic routes in Florida

Florida is one of the few states in America that offers many stunning scenic views for tourists. If you plan to see the wonders of the sunshine state during transit, be sure to read below for some of the best routes to follow. Depending on your travel direction, you will surely find the quick cuts of attractive sites below very useful if you do not know where to start.

From Jacksonville to St. Augustine

If you want to smell the Atlantic air, leave Jacksonville north from I-95 to A1A. This will bring you to Fernandina Beach. This beautiful city will allow you to experience the beauty of the Atlantic all the way.

Another good place to stop is Fort Clinch State Park. This is a favorite campsite for tourists and locals alike.

Going south on the A1A will take you to the island of Amelia, where you will find many inexpensive motels along the way. There are also a few excellent hotels such as the Amelia Island Plantation or the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. Amelia Island Beach is a favorite destination for many tourists in Florida.

From Ag. August at Dayton Beach

Being one of the oldest cities in the US, St. Augustine offers many great places to visit and is, in fact, a favorite holiday destination for many Americans. Some of the famous sites of this old city include the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, the Lightner Museum, the Spanish Quarter and the St. Augustine Lighthouse Museum. If part of the journey includes culinary destinations, you'll also find St. Augustine with many good restaurants.

There are also many picturesque state parks and good beaches as you continue south to Dayton.

From Titusville to Melbourne

Beyond Daytona there is also another big city, Titusville. This historic city is known for its Kennedy Virtual Space Center and Canaveral National Harbor. Both of these areas can be very time consuming, so you'll only want to spend a day here to enjoy.

Moving to Melbourne means visiting the Brevard Zoo and the Florida Tech Botanical Garden, where you will find rare and exotic palms. You can also spend the night at either Wickam Park or Long Point. These places are wonderful campsites in the area.

From Miami to Naples via I-75

One of the most vibrant places on earth, Miami is the best way to start exploring the Everglades National Park, the only subtropical park in North America. Going to Naples from Miami along US41 is so much fun and adventure as you go through several indigenous Indian reservations and some interesting parks.

These sites are just a few of the great places to visit in Florida. Since the state guarantees almost universal sunshine, you can come at any time without regard to the time of year.

Discover Mount Dora: There's more in central Florida than Disney

Thirty miles northwest of Orlando is the charming lagoon of Dora Village, a hidden gem full of antique shops, great food, unique shops, a bed and breakfast and beautiful scenery. Overlooking Lake Dora, at 184 feet above sea level (not exactly a mountain), it is a historic village of one hundred and five years in the heart of central Florida.

If you are looking for a place to unwind after a few days at Disney World, or just exploring a unique destination, this little known village will not disappoint.

Here are my 8 must-do's for your trip to Mount Dora:

1. The Historic Lakeside Inn

Built in 1883, The Lakeside Inn is the oldest continuously operating hotel in Florida. The large Victorian hotel is surrounded by oak trees with oak trees. Enjoy a stunning sunset by the lake or a morning coffee on the terrace surrounded by white loungers. The Inn has hosted many prominent and historic visitors, such as President Calvin Coolidge and his wife Grace, who stayed here for a month in 1930. I highly recommend staying at the Lakeside Inn while visiting Mount Dora for its old charm of Florida and its central location in shops and restaurants.

2. The GateHouse Gift Collection

Located at the Lakeside Inn, this attractive shop features pottery, jewelry, glassware and pieces of wood made by local artists. You will also find a selection of books by regional authors. In some cases, you may have the opportunity to meet one of the artists featured as they present their work. During the colder months, relax by the fire between the Gallery and the Inn. The owner, Stacy Martin, is friendly and hospitable and makes you feel at home as you browse through the gallery.

3. Treasures of home and garden

This fun shop is a colorful blend of inspirational gifts and garden decor. From unique wall clocks, garden swings and bird baths, Domas and Garden Treasures is the perfect place to find the right gift for this "hard shop" friend. Be sure to spend time browsing for inspirational spots and humor napkins. It's hard to leave this shop without a smile.

4. Checkered Moon

Come to this welcoming and modern shop and you will feel like going into a spa. Flavored candles, sea salt soaps and coastal décor are a much-needed retreat from Florida's summer heat. In addition to household goods, this is a great place for original baby gifts, including clothes, books and toys. The owner, Sharon Crow, opened the original Checkered Moon in Champaign Illinois. After discovering Mount Dora, she decided it was the perfect place for a brother shop. This was my first visit to the store, but I'll be back for some of these amazing candles.

5. Maggie's Attic Wine and Beer Cellar

A visit to Mount Dora is not complete without stopping at Maggie's Attica. An ideal place to meet locals, enjoy a glass of wine and browse the vast collection of craft wines and beer for sale. The simple, friendly atmosphere, the cozy bar and interesting people are well worth a visit. You may not want to leave. I had the pleasure of meeting many interesting people, enjoying a glass of Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc. Owner Stephanie, and her son, had lived in the area for many years and shared the story of Mount Dora. Richard, an RN from central Florida, teaches hikers, campers and outsiders how to survive in the desert. I have planned an upcoming camping trip, so pay attention! Maggie's Attic offers live entertainment on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. There are wine tastings on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month, as well as beer tastings on the 2nd Saturday. You can also expand your horizons with Maggie's Wine & Beer Clubs. Don't miss this!

6. Pisces Increases

Enjoy dinner overlooking Lake Dora as you watch the sun slowly slip into the water. Pisces Rising is a Florida fresh seafood and steak house. The bungalow cracker cracker (formerly home) was built in the 1920s. The lunch menu includes sandwiches, jambalaya, seafood, burgers and salads. For dinner, choose from steaks, chicken, seafood and pasta. Pisces Rising serves the Sunday brunch 11am. until 2 pm with live music from noon to 3 pm I chose the Lobster Bisque, which was a bowl of creamy perfection, and the Berry Spinach salad with raspberry vinaigrette. Of course I saved room for dessert, raspberry cheese cake!

7. Climbing boat tours

Explore the canal of Lake Dora (River Elfin) on the Rusty Anchor waterway. This 2 hour trip is an opportunity to get a taste of birds, alligators, otters, eagle nests, 100-year-old Cypress trees, and wonderful homes. The cost is $ 27.50. Excursions start from the quay at 10am. 12:30 pm and 3 pm

Another option is the 1-hour Sunset Cruise ($ 20) or the Dora Canal Lunch Tour, a 3-hour cruise that stops at restaurants by the water. Lunch is not provided. ($ 50). The tour is a relaxing way to spend time in the water, taste what makes this part of Florida unique and soak up the sun.

8. Kayaking

The Dora Canal connects Lake Evost and Lake Dora. The majestic cypresses and wildlife make this one of the most scenic rowing trips in Florida. Kayaking is a great way to explore Florida with water as well as get some exercise. There are many rowing options when you visit Mount Dora.

Central Florida Nature Adventures offers guided tours of 5 different rivers. Reservations are required and excursions vary depending on the level of difficulty.

Bring your own kayak. I have an inflatable kayak and I love the flexibility of being able to carry my kayak wherever I travel, including checking on an airplane. It is durable, comfortable and easily inflates in less than 5 minutes. Inflatable kayaks can be purchased as single, double or triple.

Mount Dora has become one of my favorite places in Florida to relax and get away. This picturesque village, in the middle of nowhere, is still relatively unknown to tourists. It may be near Orlando, but it is worlds away from the crowds of millions waiting for Disney World line.

Booking Hotels Online – Where To Find Trusted Companies For Discount Rooms

When it comes to finding the best hotel deals online we often come across a myriad of websites touting last minute hotel deals or deeply discounted room rates that cannot be missed. Is it too good to be true? It can. But the real real key to finding the best hotel deals is to book through a company based on where you plan to travel.

There are many hotel reservation agencies specializing in the global hotel market. And many of them are fine companies with a high reputation in the travel industry such as orbitz.com or travelocity.com and the cute gnome roaming mascot. But they won't necessarily get you the best room rates.

If you really want to find an online hotel booking agency with the best room rates, you should find a local company specializing in the hotel market.

Take for example if you want to book a hotel in Singapore. Hotels can be quite expensive, even financially. However, if you use the services of a company like Agoda.com, which has an office in Singapore, then you will definitely get better hotel rates compared to a popular global company like hotels.com.

Another prime example is Rakuten Travel Inc., another name for the Japanese hotel market. Rakuten is obviously based in Japan and as such you will be more likely to land at low prices in Japan by passing through them.

Finally, one of the most visited countries in the world is the United States. For locals and foreigners who want to stay anywhere in the United States I highly recommend CheapOstay because they consistently offer exclusive hotel deals in politically visited states such as Florida, New York and California.

Lastly, booking a hotel online through an agency will usually land you the best deals compared to booking through a hotel immediately. The hotel reservation agencies listed here work with local hotels to help reach a wider traveler base. As these organizations are more present on the internet, they are better able to expose hotels to a wider market.

Hotels are not the only place you can stay for a holiday!

Today, we as travelers have a ton of choices to consider. Where to go, how to get there, where to stay, what to get, how to plan, where to find deals … You have the point. Well, this article is to show you the options on where to stay besides a hotel.

Hotels are an excellent choice. They may be just what you need for your trip, especially if it's just the two of you. You can go with large chains that are well trusted or small chains that may need some digging to ensure you have a nice, clean, affordable hotel room with everything you need. However, if you are traveling with many people or as a family, a hotel room can get confined, privacy-free and expensive when upgrading to suites and adding extras (such as a kitchenette).

But the hotels are great because it is easy to find many good deals with all viable travel sites out there.

But, you have other options ….

** What about a condo? The shops are great and in some destinations the main choice. Condos can be small or large. They offer extra space, extra amenities, first class facilities and prices comparable to hotel rooms.

For example, we stayed in a picturesque (small) condo in Miami. We only rented it for $ 400 for the week. It was perfect for my wife and I. Beds pulling out of the wall, we had a very clean room, private entrance to the place and beaches, quiet area, 2 swimming pools, an equipped kitchen, a nice bathroom, and great views of the Atlantic. It was our "love" for the week and much cheaper than almost $ 200 from any hotel in the area.

** Rent a home. These are now great in the way real estate is today. If you are traveling with a large group then this may be your best choice. Get everything you need or live in luxury in a beachfront home for your vacation.

Once, 18 of our family members went to Florida and had to rent a home. It wasn't in the Ocean, but in a bay. It was perfect. It had 3 levels, a hot tub, pool, 4-5 bedrooms, plenty of room, amenities, and lots of fun. We had a great time together, since everyone lives in different parts of the country. It was very accessible once you separated 4 ways too.

** Resorts and All-inclusive. This is a great choice for families or if you don't want to worry about getting in your pocket. All-inclusive seems to be declining in the US, but you can find it abroad and it's usually the best option. The resorts are ideal for those who want to spend quality time together, get plenty of privacy and space and enjoy various activities like golf, fishing, kids' things, thermal baths etc.

** Time Shares. These are growing enormously in the travel world. Time shares are great if you use them. You pay a down payment once a year to use a time share. There are several types so you would like to do your research. Buying a share of time is similar to buying a home because you don't want to make the decision lightly.

My husband's parents have one and they love it. They can go wherever they want as long as they stay in designated places. We used theirs for their honeymoon in Palm Beach, Florida. It was first class all the way.

If you and your family travel at least once a year, consider doing so once.

** Camping and RV parks. In the way that campgrounds and RV parks are created today, the term "rough" doesn't exactly come to mind. You can get almost everything in a campsite you will get in a hotel. They are cheap, live out in nature for a week, and have a great time. There are a few things to consider if you are new to camping, so you will want to do some work before deciding on it as an option.

** Sailboats. Live in the water for your trip. This is yet another option to choose from. My aunt has lived in a boat house in Florida for years and loves it. This is something that no one even thinks about, but look at it, you might not come back to land for any future excursions.

We hope this article has helped shed light on where you can stay on your vacation. Villas, cabins and other type choices should be considered for specific destinations and vacations.

Most importantly, have fun, find great deals and enjoy your trip !!
